Miran Campbell Smith
Miran is our new volunteer who has been contributing in our Gardening program. Having previously worked for International Animal Rescue organization starting from 2011-2017 as an orangutan conservationist in Ketapang, West Borneo, Indonesia, he moved to Bogor along with his wife. He has been volunteering since November 2017. Coming to YCM from Monday to Thursday, Miran is interested in imparting his knowledge about planting to our students.
“Being here is like the best thing that’s ever happened to me. It has been very friendly, welcoming, and interesting, to work with the people at YCM,” said Miran. When asked about projects that he had been doing with the team, he said that he had made some recycled crafts such as fabric-made vases. “So far, I have been teaching the students about additional plants like eggplants and tomatoes that can be planted on their hydroponic tools,” said Miran.
